スウェーデンのデザイナー、ジョナス・ワーゲルは当初、数年前に作ったソファに合わせるフロアランプとしてピークランプをデザインしました。デザインはシンプルで控えめ、そしてどこか風変わりです。
彼は次のように説明します。私は、小さくて控えめで、光が必要な場所に単に「ポップアップ」するランプを必要としていました。 Peek ランプは、長く細いステムとシェードを備えた重厚なベースを備えており、ソファやアームチェアの背もたれから優雅に覗くことができます。」
Peek テーブルランプの形状とシルエットはフロアランプと同じですが、プロポーションのみが縮小されています。このランプを読書灯として、机の上の新しい親友として、あるいは夜目を閉じる前に最後に見るものとして使用してください。ベースの上部は凹面になっており、必需品の文房具、耳栓、宝石、その他の小物を収納できるボウルになっており、ステムの先端は調光器として機能します。
Jonas Wagell はデザインについて次のように述べています。「フォルムは機能的な要件から生まれていますが、ランプには個性と表現があることが重要だと考えています。私は直感的で理解しやすいシンプルなオブジェクトや製品を作成するよう努めています。本質的に、Peek ランプは 3 つの部分だけで構成されています。ベース、ステム、シェード。形は必要なものに絞り込まれ、表現は象徴的なものになります。」

Jonas Wagell
Jonas Wagell is a Swedish architect and designer born in 1973. Wagell is widely revered for his modern product and furniture design comprising soft, minimalist shapes with a welcoming expression. An alumnus of the prestigious schools Konstfack University College of Arts and Crafts and Berghs School of Communication in Stockholm, as well as Parsons School of Design in New York City. He is trained in graphics and print, project management, communication, furniture design and architecture. Studio JWDA was founded in 2008 and is located in the Old Town of Stockholm, whilst recent clients and collaborative relations that stretch from Scandinavia to China, Italy and North America. Today the work is primarily focused on product and furniture design, but occasionally the studio also consults with art and design direction. The studio’s architecture work is perhaps most known for the prefab house concept Mini House, early recognized by Wallpaper* Magazine which named Wagell one of the “world’s 50 hottest young architects” in 2008.
